This web application was developed using items that are free and available to everyone. We also used tools that don't require learning new software or programming languages. Many churches don't have access to Linux gurus and don't want to hire a consultant to setup a free program. Therefore it was decided it would be best to use Microsoft tools. You can get more detailed setup information in the documentation.
To begin you will need the following installed on the web server (host machine):
- Microsoft Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 (preferably Professional or Ultimate) or Server
- Internet Information Services (IIS) must be installed and setup on the host computer
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008; Don't fret, you can use SQL Server Express
- To support uploading of documents you will need to download and install ASP Upload 4.6 from http://www.websupergoo.com/. The license to use this product within this application ONLY is provided.
On the client machine you will need the following:
- Internet Explorer 8
- Brother QL-570 Label printer installed
- Brother SDK Client installed
- Check In Label installed to c:\my_labels
- Card Label installed to c:\my_labels
- Parent Pick Up Label installed to c:\my_labels

A: NO. You can use XP, Vista or Windows 7.
Q: What does Web Server mean?
A: A Web Server is simply the computer that is doing the bulk of the processing. It processes the code and sends it to the web browser to be displayed. Therefore it is "serving" the client request (browser).
